Zeitgeist Addendum is a movie describing the Money as Debt system we currently live in. The monetary systems priority of profit, and promotion scarcity help promote greed and corruption, while at the same time interest rates mean that the rich get richer, and inflation means that the poor get poorer. However with technological unemployment the current system will collapse in the foreseeable future.

The movie then explains the Venus Project, and the idea of a Resource Based Economy. A viable alternative to the current system that promotes abundance, intelligence, and technology, whilst removing the monetary system. Allowing things to be available without a price tag, whilst using a Cradle to Cradle (sustainable) system, instead of the current Cradle to Grave system.

The Zeitgeist Movement

The Zeitgeist Movement is about making the world a better place by using the Scientific Method to analyse the root cause of humanities problems and proposing new systems, or changes to current ones to make the future better for everyone.
The movement is based on three revolutions, and continuing progressive enhancement.

 

The Revolutions :

  1. Replacing the current Money as Debt monetary system with a Resource Based Economy, to promote abundance instead of scarcity.
  2. Replacing the current Cradle to Grave system with a Cradle to Cradle system, to promote the use of sustainable and renewable resources.
  3. Changing peoples aspirations. Instead of aiming to be famous or wealthy, people should be aiming to further humanity, especially through science, education, and creativity.

The movement also recognises and promotes the automation and replacement of jobs through the use of science and technology.

 

The Zeitgeist Movement started off after Peter Joseph released the main movie on this DVD, Zeitgeist Addendum. The movie details the current Money as Debt system, the concept of a Resource Based Economy plus The Venus Project, which involves Jacque Fresco's eye opening ideas for the future.
